Yes, you can receive large amounts into any balance with account details. But there are a couple of things you should know beforehand.
We may ask you for more information
After receiving a large amount of money, we may need to ask you about your relationship with the sender, or the purpose of the payment. This is a regulatory requirement for us, and it helps us to make sure that our services are safe for everyone.
You don't need to do anything before receiving large amounts, such as sending documents to us. We review transfers on a case by case basis so there’s no way to know what information we’ll need until we’ve received the money from the sender.
There are limits for USD balances when receiving money
For most currencies, you can receive money on your balance without a limit.
If your USD account details have a routing number starting with 026, then the following limits apply.
Personal limit | Business limit | |
---|---|---|
USD limit, per transaction and per day | 20,000,000 USD | 50,000,000 USD |
USD limit per year* | 35,000,000 USD | 150,000,000 USD |
These limits don’t apply when:
you top up your USD balance using the Add money button in your account
you convert money from other currencies in your account
