2-step verification is an added layer of security to your account, so that your money and information is kept safe.
You have 3 options to use for 2-step verification:
receive a code by text message or phone call
receive a notification in the Wise app on a trusted device
enter a code from a separate authenticator app
Using the app is more reliable, because it only needs internet connection to work. It’s the best option if you have problems with your phone, or if you’re planning to travel.

Check or change your 2-step verification
If you want to see what your current security layout is, follow these steps.
Web
Go on your name in the top corner
Select Settings
Select 2-step verification, then Change 2-step verification settings to see what they are
On your 2-step verification page, you’ll see your current verification methods, other verification methods and an option to toggle another option
App
Go on your icon or name in the top corner
Select Privacy & Security and tap 2-step login
On your 2-step verification page, you’ll see your current verification methods, other verification methods and an option to Change default
How to change your 2-step verification methods
This is how you can navigate the different types of security.
Set or change your phone number
You can set or change your phone number as your 2-step verification method.
2-step verification with your phone number can't be removed from Current verification methods, but you can change the default to other verification methods.
Text message
To set a Text message as default, follow the steps under Check or change your 2-step verification above. To change your registered phone number, select Text message and Change, then follow the instructions we send you to your email. Learn how to change your phone number
Please use a mobile phone number — landline numbers don't always work properly.
Other phone method
On the website, you can choose a different way for us to contact you on your phone:

Set or remove the Wise app
Here's how to set or remove the Wise app as your 2-step verification method.
Set it up
Download the Wise app if you don’t have it already, and log in
Follow the steps under Check or change your 2-step verification above
Under Other verification method, select Wise app
Select Continue
We'll send an approval code via SMS to your registered phone number. Enter the code and select Continue
Select Done — your Wise app is now set up
Remove
Follow the steps under Check or change your 2-step verification above
Select the Wise app under Your verification methods
On the app, select Remove this method for Android, or toggle it on iOS
On web, switch off Verify with the Wise app
If you have a new device and notifications are still sent to the old one, simply follow the steps above to remove Wise app as your 2-step verification method. Then re-enable it again on your new device.

Pair or remove an authenticator app
Here's how to set or remove an authenticator app as your 2-step verification method.
Set it up
Make sure you have an authenticator app installed. You can use any authenticator app, including Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password and Authy
Follow the steps under Check or change your 2-step verification above to get to your 2-step verification page on the app or the website
Under Other verification methods, select Authenticator app and press Start pairing
Follow the instructions to pair your authenticator app with the Wise app. You’ll receive a code that you need to scan or manually enter to your authenticator app, then enter a 6-digit code on the Wise app
Remove
Select the Authenticator app under Your verification methods
Select Remove
How to change your default 2-step verification method
Follow the steps under How to check your 2-step verification settings to get to your 2-step verification page on the app or the website
Select Edit default on the web or Change Default on the app
Select the method you’d wish to set as default from the list of available options
What if I can't use my old device?
If you have an old device attached to your 2-step verification and can't log in, you can remove it and connect 2-step verification on your new device.
When you see the message Check your other device on screen, select I've got a new device
This will give you options to approve another way. You can select one of the listed options, like SMS, to log in with your existing number on a new device
But if you also can't use your number, select I lost access to this phone number and select the relevant option — you can now change your primary phone number from here.
