What are USD account details?
These are your very own account details to receive US dollars (USD) into your Wise Account. For most customers, we provide two sets of details:
Local for payments sent from within the US
Global – Swift for payments sent from outside the US.
Your details include:
Account holder: your name as it appears on your Wise Account
ACH and wire routing number
Account number
Account type: Checking — some banks will ask senders to specify the account type
Swift/BIC: for international payments sent from outside the US. You can only see these on your Global – Swift details
Bank name and address: if your payer needs to include an address, you can use the address and name of our partner institution.
You can't get USD account details if you live in one of these countries and territories
How do I use them?
The account details we offer aren’t a bank account, but the account number and routing number we give you work the same way when receiving money. Just share your account details with your friends, company or customers, and they can send you USD.
Keep in mind your USD account details can only receive USD. Money sent in any other currency will be returned back to the sender.
Your sender's bank may ask for e-teller ID, but we won't have this information. When setting up the transfer, your sender should add your account details manually instead of selecting the bank name.
There are some limits for receiving USD into your Wise Account.

How do I receive USD from inside the US?
Provide your ACH (ABA) routing number if you’re:
being paid a salary
receiving earnings from platforms, such as Amazon
receiving direct deposits
receiving non-urgent payments
ACH
ACH payments, also known as electronic money transfers, are the most common payment method in the US. They’re usually free, or cost a lower fee for your sender. They typically take 2–3 working days to reach Wise.
Wire payments
Provide your wire routing number if your sender specifically wants to pay you with a wire. Wire transfers can cost your sender 20–30 USD depending on how much their bank charges, but will reach your Wise account within 1 working day.
If someone sends you money using a wire transfer, we’ll charge a small fee — check all the latest fees for receiving money here.
What if my sender used the wrong routing number?
If your sender used the wrong routing number, the money should be returned to their account within 3-5 working days.
If the money hasn’t gotten back to them in that time, they should get in touch with their bank to set up a trace on the money. We can’t track money that was sent to the wrong details.
How do I receive USD from outside the US?
To receive USD from outside the US, use your Global – Swift details that you can see under your USD balance.
Your USD account details can only receive USD. To receive other currencies, you can get account details in another currency, or ask your sender to sign up with Wise.
If you have a Swift code, you can receive USD from anywhere in the world, except these countries and territories.
Transfers to your global USD account details can take up to 5 working days.
If someone sends you money using a Swift transfer, check the pricing page to see the latest fees.
Note: If you have account details for your GBP balance, you can also receive USD to your GB IBAN.

What information should my sender use?
To receive a Swift transfer, you should give your sender the details under the Global – Swift tab:
Account holder: the name on your account
Routing number
Swift/BIC: for international payments sent from outside the US. You can only see these on your Global – Swift details
Account number
Wise’s address: if your payer needs to include an address. You can also find the address and name of our partner institution if you click on the question mark next to our address
If your sender doesn’t provide the address in their Swift transfer, we’ll have to reject the payment. It can take 5–10 working days, sometimes longer, to get the money back to them.
If you want to send your USD details to your sender, you can also download your account details document.
Can I set up Direct Debits to my USD account details?
You can share your details with a company, and give them the permission to take regular payments from your account.
You might use Direct Debits to pay for a monthly subscription like the gym, or to pay your phone or energy bill.
