With Wise, you can receive money in multiple different currencies to account details. You can request unique account details for the currency you want to receive money in.
You can receive money:
Locally — receive the currency you want from the country that uses that currency, for example GBP from relatives in the UK while you're living in the US
Globally — also known as with Swift, receive the currency you want from almost any country in the world, for example USD from relatives in Australia while you're living in the US
What are local account details?
Local account details allow you to receive money by bank transfer in the country, or countries, that use that currency.
Let's say you’ve moved from the UK to the US, and you’d like to receive money in British pounds from your family living in the UK. We’ll provide GBP account details that your family can send money to — this means no conversion or international fees.

What are global account details?
Global (also known as international or Swift) account details allow you to receive almost any currency from almost any country in the world.
Say, for example, you’ve moved from the UK to Canada and you'd like to receive Canadian dollars from your family abroad. We'll provide global Swift account details that your family with bank accounts almost anywhere in the world can send money to — not just those with a bank account in Canada.
When someone sends you a global payment, it comes through the Swift network. We currently offer global account details in 20+ currencies.

How do I receive money with my global account details?
You first need to decide which currency you'd like to receive, then find the global account details for that currency in your account.
You'll need to give the person sending you money account details shown under the Global-Swift account details tab of your chosen currency:
How long do global payments take?
It usually takes 4 to 5 days, but the time can vary.
What fees do I have to pay?
You can receive money from bank accounts across the world — for a lower fee than what most banks charge.
Check our pricing page for the latest fees in your region — just make sure to switch to the region you're in.
*If you don't have local PLN account details, and would like to receive PLN via Swift, first you need to open account details in GBP. Learn here how to open a balance.
Intermediary banks that help send this money can sometimes deduct their own fees from the sender's amount — Wise can't change this. You can ask your sender to opt for the OUR charges — this option allows the sender to cover all the correspondent charges.

Some senders may need more details to pay with Swift
Your sender might ask you for some other information, like an institution number, transit number, routing number, or other details. In some currencies, our partner bank doesn’t use these for global Swift payments, but you can still ask your sender to:
pay through a different bank that doesn’t need these details
check if their bank can process the payment with only the Swift/BIC code and account number we provide
