In this article, we’ll cover the different ways that you can receive money to your Wise account without using your account details. If you want to receive to your Wise account details learn more here.
Once you open a balance you can receive money to your Wise account through your:
email address or phone number
Wise card details – receive money by using your 16-digit card number
or by requesting a payment, such as with a payment link. Learn more about the different methods below.
Receiving to your email address or phone number
If you make your account discoverable, others can send you money through their Wise account by just entering your phone number or email address.* They may need to sync their contacts so they can find you.
To do this just select this link and toggle the option to be found on or off.
You can also get there by going to your profile in the top corner > Security and Privacy > Find me By.
If you haven’t enabled this, then we’ll send you an email and you can manually add the details that you want to receive money to.
Requesting payments
With payment requests, you can send a request to other people or businesses on Wise so they can pay you directly.
How do I request money?
To request money, just select Request from Home, or select one of your currency balances and then Request. You can send a request to your synced contacts or to anyone with a payment link.
You’ll need to have an open balance for the currency you're requesting.

Personal and business accounts can get a payment link that you can share with others to get paid.
Personal accounts can set up a Wisetag to set up a unique link with your name that you can share with others, such as with a QR code.
Business accounts can request money by invoice where you can set up all the details for the payment
Businesses can also receive using Quick Pay — a fast and easy way to receive money.
For Wise Business accounts, you can also choose how to be paid — straight from your customer’s Wise account, by bank transfer, or by card.

Receiving to your Wise card details
If you have a Wise card issued anywhere besides the US or Japan, you can get paid directly to your 16-digit Wise card number.
The receiving limits depend on what currencies you’re receiving.

*What do we do with the information from your phone’s contacts?
We never send or store your full phone’s contacts on our servers. We also never get in touch with your contacts. We only use this information to make it easier to send money between you and your friends.
When you switch the feature on, any Wise customer with your phone number or email address will see your account name and photo on their app but rest assured that they aren't able to see any of your account numbers.
