How long does it take to receive money into a balance?

How long a payment takes to arrive depends on these things:

• What currency the money is sent in

• What payment method the sender used

There are several ways to receive money from others into your Wise account.

How long each currency might take

Working days mean Monday to Friday. If the payment was sent over the weekend or a public holiday, it will be on the next working day.

Note: if receiving eligible currencies to your GBP account details via SWIFT refer to the GBP section for Swift timeframes.

AUD

• Up to 2 working days if it was sent from Australia

• 4 to 5 working days if it was sent from outside of Australia with Swift

CAD

• 1 to 2 working days if it was sent from Canada

• 1 to 4 working days for Direct Debit transfers

• 4 to 5 working days if it was sent from outside Canada with Swift

How do I use my CAD account details?

EUR

• 1 to 2 working days if it was sent from SEPA countries

• 4 to 5 working days if it was sent outside of SEPA with Swift

How do I use my EUR account details?

GBP

• Up to 1 working day if it was sent from the UK

• 4 to 5 working days if it was sent from outside the UK with Swift

  • This timeframe is also applicable when receiving eligible currencies to your GBP account details via Swift

How do I use my GBP account details?

HUF

• Instant for payments under 10 million HUF

• A few hours for payments over 10 million HUF

• 4 to 5 working days if it was sent from outside the Hungary with Swift

How do I use my HUF account details?

NZD

• 1 to 2 working days

• 4 to 5 working days if it was sent from outside New Zealand with Swift

PLN

• 1 to 2 working days

• You can keep using your PLN account details if you already have them, but we don’t offer new local PLN account details

• 4 to 5 working days if it was sent from outside Poland with Swift

RON

• 1 working day

• 4-5 working days if it was sent from outside Romania with Swift to your GBP details

How do I use my RON account details?

SGD

• 1 working day

• 4-5 working days if it was sent from outside Singapore via Swift 

How do I use my SGD account details?

TRY

• 1 working day

• You can only receive TRY from Türkiye

How do I use my TRY account details?

USD

• 1 working day for wire transfers

• 1 to 4 working days for ACH transfers

• 4 to 5 working days if it was sent from outside the US with Swift

How do I use my USD account details?

My payment was sent by Swift

Swift payments can take longer than regular payments, because they go through correspondent banks. We suggest waiting 4 to 5 working days.

Wise can’t speed up Swift payments, but if your payment is taking longer, let us know.

What if I still haven’t received my money?

If the timeframe has passed, and you didn’t get your money, you should always check with the sender first before you get in touch with us.
