For Brazilian customers with a BRL balance we're temporarily unable to send money from your Wise BRL balance to bank accounts owned by other people or businesses.
You can still send money from a personal BRL balance to your own Brazilian bank account, or from a business BRL balance to your same business entity's Brazilian bank account.
Here you’ll find answers to the most common questions about Brazilian real (BRL) transfers.
Sending to BRL
Who can I send BRL to?
You can send BRL to personal and business bank accounts in Brazil. You can also send BRL to other Wise users who have a BRL balance. You can look for the recipient using an email address or phone number and send to a verified BRL balance - no need for bank details.
What information do I need about my recipient?
You’ll need their:
full name
4–12 digit local account number and account type
4–5 digit branch code
bank name and 3 digit bank code
11-digit tax ID/CPF or 14-digit business tax ID/CNPJ
How much can I send?
If you have a personal Wise account you can send up to 250,000 BRL per transfer to personal and business accounts.
If you have a Wise Business account you can send up to 3,000 USD (or equivalent) per transfer to personal accounts and 10,000 USD (or equivalent) to business accounts.
How long does it usually take for the money to arrive?
Once Wise receives and converts your money, it usually takes 1 working day to arrive in your recipient’s bank account. Conversion can take up to 2 working days.
We’ll always give you an estimate for how long your transfer will take when you set it up.
If you send over 10,000 USD (or equivalent) to BRL in a single transfer or over 365 days, you or your recipient may need to send us some extra documents. So your transfer may take a little longer to arrive.
Is there any other information I need to know?

If the address on your Wise account is already located outside of Brazil, when you set up your transfer we’ll ask you for a Brazilian address — this will act as a secondary address on your account. It won’t change the address you already have on your account and will only be used for your transfers from BRL.
